Please note that our chapter is back to meeting on the 3rd Weds of the month again. We are back at IBEW Local 46 Union Hall in Kent. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the meeting will start at 6:30 PM.
In August we had our annual derby. I gave a recap of the derby in the last Reel News, so if you read this message last month you know it went well. However, the month we do a derby, we also skip our monthly meeting so nothing to report about this issue.
In September, tomorrow from this writers point of view, Nate Alvord from Scotty will be speaking. Most of you will know what Scotty is all about, but here is a history refresher: Scotty was started by Blayney and Almeda Scott back in 1952. The company started as a manufacturer of fishing lures and other marine products and has evolved into Scotty Manufacturing Ltd. As a testament to their product quality, many of us who have been fishing a while have not spent a lot of money on their most noteworthy product, the downriggers, because the 25 year old models refuse to die. But Scotty does offer a variety of products that we are sure to learn about.
For October, the speaker is talking about boat maintenance, including winterizing, for those that do winterize. In last month's message, I wrote that we were behind on getting stuff done. We are all still enjoying fishing season so that is still true, but in the next Reel News we should be able to provide additional meeting info. For now, keep checking the webpage or Facebook for updates.
We welcome all members and first-time guests to join us once again on the third Wednesday of the month (except August) for our general meetings. Membership is only $35.00 dollars for the year and is good for an individual or family. Doors open at 6:00 PM & the meeting starts at 6:30 PM. Every club meeting we run our raffle open to all and we go around the room sharing our recent fishing reports.
Upcoming schedule of events: October: Boat Maintenance, Nov TBD, December annual Christmas Party
